Acer Predator 21 X is a ginormous construction and barely falls into the category of portable laptops. We are stressing this because of the massive 21-inch form factor that does not fit in any standard backpacks. The laptop comes with its own proprietary case (or more precisely a suitcase) that is visible to all the prying eyes. It weighs around 8.5 kilograms and is, in no manner, meant to be carried around considering the practicality.

Keeping the insults aside, the Acer Predator 21 X is still an overkill beast that fares well in any gaming condition. The screen is a 21-inch curved IPS panel that supports a native 1080 pixel resolution. This attribute coupled with anti-glare and G-Sync integration prevents screen-tear while playing games. The 120 Hz refresh rate is an added plus for the gamers. The laptop houses a full-size mechanical keyboard that is on par with any of the desktop mechanical keyboards. It has swappable buttons that are included in the case.

The Numpad and trackpad are a single unit that is magnetic and snugly fits into the compartment. The speaker system has 4 primary units with two additional subwoofers that are loud and Dolby certified. They sound well, considering it is a laptop speaker.

Conclusion – Should you Buy or Not?

Acer Predator 21 X does not lack any present gen-component that you can possibly think of. With an overclocked Intel i7 processor and 64 gigs of RAM, its computing prowess should not be questioned. The main highlight, however, is the two full-fledged graphic cards that are present in the laptop. It uses two latest GTX 1080 in SLI mode that harnesses the power of both cards to produce a stellar performance in games. The cards draw a lot of power and come with two separate 330-watt power bricks that have to be used simultaneously.

The laptop gets very loud if you max out the settings of power-hungry games, but the performance does not drop by an inch. It gives exceptional framerates, even with the 120 Hz refresh rate and G-sync enabled. The screen does not disappoint as well, with sharp color production and deeper blacks. It has a state-of-art heat dissipation system that prevents thermal throttling on the laptop. The users can play games without facing any difficulty whatsoever. Battery life on the Acer Predator 21 X is below average. But it is a machine that needs to be plugged in to experience its vigor. All things aside, this is a product for computer evangelists and can be yours at a hefty price tag of 9000 dollars.
